Odysci Academic values the free collaboration and exchange of ideas between its members. We believe that through honest, frank and unbiased exchange of views, comments and expertise, the community as a whole can benefit greatly.
In order to encourage this honest and free exchange, Odysci Academic requires its users to register with the website and provide certain personally-identifying information, some of which Odysci Academic may share with other registered users of the website.
Irrespective of your country of residence or the country from which where you access the Odysci Academic website, the information you provide may be used by Odysci Academic in the United States or any other country where Odysci Academic operates.
When you register for a membership account on the Odysci Academic website, you are required to provide the following personally-identifying information: username, email address, password, full name, and location. Of this information, your full name is the only data publicly listed on your public profile page. Your username, email address and password are never made public.
As a registered member of the Odysci Academic website, you are allowed to enter comments about technical papers and other materials you may find on the site. If you do so, the text of the comment and your name (as the author of the comment) become visible to anyone accessing the corresponding page.
Why do we display a public profile page and identify the author of a comment? At Odysci Academic, we believe that honest exchange of ideas and views can only be done if people are responsible for what they write and are willing to put their name and reputation behind it.
When you access the Odysci Academic website, we collect certain anonymous data about your computer and about how you used the Site, which we call your Session Log. Data about your computer that is collected includes your IP address, browser type and operating system type. Data about your use of site includes the pages your visited, search terms used, comments added, and other interactions with the site. If the Site has advertisements or third party links, we also collect the number of times you clicked on an external link.
Your privacy is very important to Odysci Academic. We do not sell, rent or provide your personal identification to third parties, unless instructed by you to do so. Occasionally, we will carry advertisements or other material by third parties which you may want to download. In order to download the material it may be necessary for you to provide your public personal information, such as name and email address, or allow your personal information stored by Odysci Academic to be transferred to the third party.
Odysci Academic may disclose your personal information if necessary to comply with the law, regulation or legal request, and to investigate fraud or security issues.
Odysci Academic may share, disclose or sell any non-private, non-personal, aggregate information, such as the number of users interested in a given topic, or the number of users who clicked on a given link.
You are allowed to edit and delete any personal information you provided to the Site. If you enter any comments, these cannot be deleted directly by you. You must request deletion of comments by sending an email to email@example.com.
Odysci Academic may from time to time conduct surveys on the site as a way to improve our services. If you choose to participate in these surveys, your answers will be recorded in aggregated form, and cannot be deleted individually.
Please keep in mind that deleted information may persist in caches in search engines for a while, and in our backup copies for a period of time to comply with legal obligations.
If you wish to terminate your account you must send an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Children and Minors under the age of 18 are not eligible to use the Odysci Academic site and services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or minors under 18 and we ask that children and minors under 18 do not submit any personal information or use the Site.
