Odysci Academic values the free collaboration and exchange of ideas between its members. We believe that through honest, frank and unbiased exchange of views, comments and expertise, the community as a whole can benefit greatly.

In order to encourage this honest and free exchange, Odysci Academic requires its users to register with the website and provide certain personally-identifying information, some of which Odysci Academic may share with other registered users of the website.

This Privacy Policy describes Odysci Academic's policies on the collection, use and disclosure of the information you volunteer.

Irrespective of your country of residence or the country from which where you access the Odysci Academic website, the information you provide may be used by Odysci Academic in the United States or any other country where Odysci Academic operates.

1. Collection of Personal Information

When you register for a membership account on the Odysci Academic website, you are required to provide the following personally-identifying information: username, email address, password, full name, and location. Of this information, your full name is the only data publicly listed on your public profile page. Your username, email address and password are never made public.

You may also choose to publicly disclose additional personal information, such as, your picture, your present and past professional affiliations (jobs), your present and past education, a list of technical interests, a list of preferred conferences and journals, and/or a short biography of yourself. If you do choose to publicly disclose any of this or other additional information, it will be part of your public profile page and accessible by anyone, including search engines. If you do NOT want this additional information to be part of your public profile page, DO NOT provide it. By submitting your information you consent to the use of that information as described in this Privacy Policy.

As a registered member of the Odysci Academic website, you are allowed to enter comments about technical papers and other materials you may find on the site. If you do so, the text of the comment and your name (as the author of the comment) become visible to anyone accessing the corresponding page.

Why do we display a public profile page and identify the author of a comment? At Odysci Academic, we believe that honest exchange of ideas and views can only be done if people are responsible for what they write and are willing to put their name and reputation behind it.

2. Log Files, Browser Data and Cookies

When you access the Odysci Academic website, we collect certain anonymous data about your computer and about how you used the Site, which we call your Session Log. Data about your computer that is collected includes your IP address, browser type and operating system type. Data about your use of site includes the pages your visited, search terms used, comments added, and other interactions with the site. If the Site has advertisements or third party links, we also collect the number of times you clicked on an external link.

Odysci Academic may share, disclose or sell any non-private, non-personal, aggregate information, such as the number of users interested in a given topic, or the number of users who clicked on a given link.

In the event of a business reorganization, such as acquisition, sale of assets, merger, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred or sold as part of the business transaction. The terms of this privacy policy will apply to your data also after the transfer or sale to the new organization.

4. Controlling Your Data on the Odysci Academic Site

You are allowed to edit and delete any personal information you provided to the Site. If you enter any comments, these cannot be deleted directly by you. You must request deletion of comments by sending an email to account@odysci.com.

Odysci Academic may from time to time conduct surveys on the site as a way to improve our services. If you choose to participate in these surveys, your answers will be recorded in aggregated form, and cannot be deleted individually.

Please keep in mind that deleted information may persist in caches in search engines for a while, and in our backup copies for a period of time to comply with legal obligations.

If you wish to terminate your account you must send an email request to account@odysci.com.

5. Age Policy

Children and Minors under the age of 18 are not eligible to use the Odysci Academic site and services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or minors under 18 and we ask that children and minors under 18 do not submit any personal information or use the Site.

6. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Odysci Academic may update this Privacy Policy at any time, with or without advance notice. If an update includes significant changes to the treatment of your personal information or to this Privacy Policy document itself, we will publish a notice on the Site or send you an email alerting you to the changes. Using the Odysci Academic site and Services after a notice has been published or an email notice of Policy Update has been sent to you, shall constitute your consent to the updated policy terms.
